cool picture-love seeing what it looked like before I was born. Dirt roads no less!!! The building next to the Lafayette House was at one time a general store owned by the Lown (I cannot remember Mr. & Mrs. Lown’s first names! She was a teacher in Pine Plains in the 60’s) family and made into a private residence for the Lown family after that. I remember going to the Lown’s house and they had a huge room with a pool table and a large barrel (probably leftover from the store) that was always filled with peanuts!
